Do you know why we are taking pictures?

Hey guys,

So the other day, I was at home and my Sis was watching the TV. So I spent a bit of time ( Which is a lot ) to see what's on, and...

The joy truck was on.
I didn't watch the full thing, I only managed to catch a bit of it.

So if you guys don't know what's that, let me educate you guys.

The host, Pornsak (Awesome fella) goes different places each episode to do some volunteering work along with a team of volunteers. On the final episode, they went to a home for the sick elderly.

They were doing some very generic volunteer's work like decorating and cutting hair.

However, they did something different for this(Or maybe I just haven't seen it before.). They were taking pictures for the old folks.

Some grannys were pretty funny by putting on some cute pose or the asian peace signs.

Then in the midst of it, the host asked the granny one question.

"Do you know why we are taking pictures?"

"I don't know"

"We are taking these photos so that when you go to heaven, we can use these pictures."

To those that doesn't understand what the host meant by that, when a Chinese pass away, they would have a picture on the van.

Of course, when you talk about death especially to a Chinese elder, they usually wouldn't like it, as they believe it to be rather "Bad luck" to talk about it.

However, when the host asked," Do you think it's bad luck to talk about it?"

This granny said," It's alright, we will pass on eventually, sooner or later. With birth, comes death. We can never escape it. We will walk this path no matter what."

There were so much feelings flowing in me, but i think what matters most was the words she said.

It is true that death happens to all, unless you live in the movie "In Time"

My favorite movie all time, and the movie where I fell in love with Amanda Seyfried. (Ahh~~)

Back to the topic, death brings about sadness, loneliness and lost of motivation. (Unless you're a terrorist, which you enjoy people's death.)

I am still young, since I only lived for 17 years. So death in a sense, is still a long time. Right?
Actually life is unpredictable, when your time is up, it's up.

However, I am not scared of death. I know most people will think I'm not serious since I am still young, but I actually thought it through very seriously. I was scared for a few months about what happens when I die.

Am I gonna be a nobody? Will I at least have a decent life? What will happen to my love ones?

These thoughts were on my mind for quite a long time. However, since I became a Christian, I am longer afraid of death. (Don't worry, I wouldn't elaborate on it)

However, when I think of my Mum dying. I just couldn't imagine it. Or should I say I wouldn't dare to think about it.

A mother's love is the greatest love anyone can give. Though my Mum isn't the best Mum, she is to me. I love her very much, but I still couldn't imagine a day where I don't have her.

If you think I'm a mummy's boy, you're wrong. I do most of the things myself, and she doesn't forbids me from doing anything. However, I still love her very much because I wouldn't be here if she didn't went through the pains of having me or the fact that she didn't abandon me(and to be honest, I am a problematic kid).

Can you imagine the day where your love ones is no longer around?  or rather, are you prepared to die?

There is so much that we think are the end of the worlds like my freaking end of semester exam, I am so so scared. Are you able to let those go and cherish of what's genuinely important?

It's simple description of the episode and pictures of what they did if you don't want to watch the whole hour show.

So till next time, stay awesome and rock on.
