Earth is a confusing place.

Hey guys,

Well, today is just gonna be a sad post. (Just letting you know)

...I cut my hand and I can't type well. So today is just gonna be a short post.

Neh, see what I do for you guys!

But really, I cut myself in the most manly way...from cutting an orange. (Gotta get that vitamin C!)

I'm not kidding guys, I really cut my finger.

Okie, moving on. Serious time.

Sometimes, I really just find humanity disgusting and pathetic (And no, I'm not the alien that Katy Perry sing of).
Why am I saying all those? Well, recently there have been a lot of events that bothers me.

Recently, I was walking back home from the train stations. During that time, I saw a man lying in the floor of a block.
He appears drunk and he had his hand to his chest. Usually in this kind of scenario, it can mean two things.

1. He was actually drunk.

2. He had a heart attack and that explains why he had his hand to his chest.

Bearing in mind that he could be drunk, I called the police instead if approaching him. I know there are other numbers to call other than 999, but at that time I really didn't know what to do.
After I called the police, I stayed around, just to make sure nothing serious happens.

However, while I was there, there were about 20 people that walked past, and here's the thing. No one bothered about him.

All of them saw him, in fact, they stood there for a moment and just look at him. Then, they just walked off.
They didn't even asked about his condition or something. Whats better is that since he was lying in the floor, more than a dozen just walked right past him. They were trying not to touch him, avoiding the unnecessary trouble.

Now you might ask," but jasper, it's normal that people lies on the street. They might be homeless!"
That is true, but in Singapore, most homeless people would sleep on a park bench or somewhere. Just not the floor.

Also, he wasn't lying on the side of the walkway. He laid on the middle of the walkway, which was rather unusual.
So I stood there for about 18 minutes( I was counting.. )
Then the paramedics came, and seeing that he was taken care of, I went home.

Now you might think, what's the big fuss about?
That's the thing, no one bothered to do anything to that man.

He could have a heart attack and was maybe on his last breathe. Or even, he could have hit his head.
But we will never know, 'cause we just don't care

Doesn't this remind you of a incident a few years back in china.
A little girl was hit by two cars, the drivers drove of.
The little girl laid on the middle of the road ( that's right, I said road ), more than 18 people walked past, but no one cared, except the 19th person. A rag and bone lady, which was 31 minutes after.

I couldn't really find a reliable source showing she's alive, but most articles ends with her in a coma.

What's so disturbing is that the driver noticed that he hit the little girl, he stopped, but carry on. So many people saw it, but all lopped around her. That's just so sad.

It's funny that we always say that we are the smartest species on Earth, and the newspaper prints something on the headlines when someone does something good.

Isn't it funny?

People make it a big thing when people does something good, but it's normal to close our eyes when something goes wrong?
I live in Singapore. We are claimed to be relatively rich (which is mainly just the government), we have a rather good education here (where it's so good, that a bunch of foreign students come, even if its the lousiest school.).

So in a sense, we rather developed. So why are we doing these sort of things? What are we teaching to the future generations?
Most of us just wanna lead a simple life, without much trouble, having enough money for us and our kids.
But in the midst of doing this, we close out anything that wouldn't have any benefits to us. If there isn't any benefit, it's just trouble.

I remember attending a 3 day workshop (mainly because I was forced), if there's one thing that I took away, is that if we don't treat each others well, who will?

Can we expect aliens to treat us well? Can we expect animals to replace humans?

We as humans, can only treat each others well.
The police called me after the whole incident (and it was a personal mobile number), he called to say that the man wasn't injured and he was okie.

So chillax people!

So till next time, stay awesome and rock on.
